Lochness Monster- Left Hook

This is the sprite work for the Lochness Monster that I worked on for the game I pitched for my Junior project, Left Hook.
Left Hook is a boxing fishing game combo where you fish fish up and then box them to bring them down. The Lochness Monster is the boss of the game. It is more difficult and has two phases. A head up phase and head down phase. Most of the work I created was for the head up phase. There were also many tails created because the Lochness would also attack with its tail. The sprites were made with the intention for the Lochness to sit in the water and then get real close to the boat the player stands on, but it was not feasible within the time period we had.
Everything here was made in procreate. The pixel art was rescaled within photoshop for display on the web.

These are the final sprites for the head up phase of the Lochness monster. These include the attacks, getting hit, and being dazed. The tail sprites are also included in the sheet.

These are sketches and concepts for how the Lochness could look in the game along with how the attacks worked.

This concept sheet of possible fish to fight includes an early idea for what the lochness could have looked like in the end game. The idea was to attach pads to the tail like boxing equipment.

These are really rough sketches for when we first started implementing the Lochness monster in the game. These were meant for scale of the art in relation to the screen and for the team to use in the game temporarily.
