Stella Bloom - Botography

Become a botanist in Botography, a cozy 2D adventure-exploration game. Navigate an uncharted whimsical region, where plants have unique and fantastical properties. Gather materials, grow plants, and utilize their abilities to discover the mystery of the forest and the secrets that lie within.

This is my senior project at Drexel University. I was one of the main animators for the game. I had a hand in all the key plant animations for the game.
This is the stella bloom. It is one of the four panacea plants that are required to be collected in the game. The plant is to be brought back to the center of the island in order to restore the central tree to it's former glory. I created the polished animation, the almanac image, and icons.
I created the animation within Procreate Dreams.

I was given a base idea for the animations that were going to be used for the stella bloom and mirror moss plant. These were created by Riley Chiang.

This is the concept work I was given to work off of for color for the stella bloom. I ended up changing the tentacle bulb color to match the flower. This was created by Theresa Merritt.

This is the almanac splash image. The almanac is a book in the game that players refer back to when they discover new plants. It is conceptually very similar to a pokedex for plants.
